We will advertising for this year’s Annual Honoring Education Pow-wow through a variety of media, including the new and improved Native American Student Association Website!  Please post your ideas/suggestions on Pow-wow advertising possibilities this year!

Enter any ideas, comments, suggestions or ideas you may have to contribute to the Native American Student Association here!  Each weekly series of postings will be organized by topic for future discussion.

So far we have sent a donatioin request letter to the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux (Dakota) Community, who has typically been one of our largest contributors to the annual Honoring Education Pow-wow.  I will be sending out a letter to Red Cliff early next week.  If you are able to submit a letter to your tribe or know someone who can, please leave a comment below!

If you are interested in pursuing the Pizza Gift Card fundraising effort, please respond with a “YES” or “NO” according to your preference.  Essentially we would have to visit local pizza establishments, present them with a deal (like buy 1 lg pizza get one free) that we could then send to the fundraising company, who would print of the cards for approx. $1.00/piece, which we could then sell for upwards of $5-$10 per card.

PLEASE VOTE!

I have completed the cover letter and proposal for the “Denver March: The Contemporary Pow-wow Explained” Documentary film. The documents can be viewed by visiting the NASA Homepage, and clicking the “Road to Denver” half of the welcome header at the top of the page. We are scheduled to meet with AIS, ENGLISH, the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs, and Student Development and Diversity to discuss potential contributions to help defray the costs of the trip.
